Default 06 Ram Airbag Light

So just recently my airbag light has started coming on at random and when its on my A/C quits blowing cold air...the fan keeps spinning and air is coming out, but the light for my A/C turns off and it stops blowing cold. If the Airbag light goes off, the A/C starts blowing cold again...I have read A LOT of stuff about airbag lights with these trucks, but havent really came across this particular problem anywhere...any of you guys familiar with this issue? The truck does have an aftermarket CD player, but its been in for atleast a year and I havent had these problems until the last 2weeks.

thanks in advance.

Seems that I have stumped the board lol I hooked up my scanner and the truck isnt throwing any codes which figures since its not an actual Check Engine Light...i'll be checking wiring next under the seats and the dash...

hopefully somebody can throw out some ideas...

Update...

I started doing some troubleshooting...

I checked the wiring under the dash for the A/C and everything was good.

Wiring for the head-unit was good.

All fuses good.

Battery and alternator are fine.

Reset the computer...still not blowing cold air, A/C light still off, and Airbag light still on...

Next I started checking the seatbelts and airbag sensors...

Everything looked good so I decided to disconnect some of the sensors one at a time just so I could be 100% sure that wasnt causing the problem...I disconnected the one from under neath the passenger seat and TADA the light for my A/C turned back on instantly and started blowing cold air...obviously the airbag light is still on but I think I found where the short is...Im gonna go get another plug and splice it in on Monday and will post if that gets rid of the airbag light.

First time I have seen this problem anywhere...

So get this...The A/C was working fine after I unplugged the sensor under the passenger seat but today I had somebody in my truck who happened to plug in the seatbelt for the passenger seat and the A/C quit blowing cold again...something really weird going on here...

does anybody happen to know if the airbag/seatbelt electronics are wired into the compressor or A/C?

Not sure about your problem, but there is a recall on the passenger side airbag in the 2006.

Make sure when your AC is turned on that your AC condenser fan (under the hood and next the the rad) is working and on also. If not then you may need a new fan.

Here is your thread on it though
