Q to Quad Cab buyers... just curious.
I've been watching the many, many quad cab pickups of various makes on the road and I see most of them in my informal (and admittedly unscientific survey) have no more than one or two people in them.
Hence, a question to current quad cab owners; did you buy yours because you really need/use it, or it was a good deal, or it was about all there was on the lot to choose from, or...???
As I say, I'm just curious. I ordered a regular cab to get as close as I could to exactly what I wanted. I've no need for the extra space and weight, etc. Also, for the first time in my many years of ordering vehicles, this was the first one that was as cheap as buying off the lot, had they found one like I wanted (they came pretty close, but it was 1000 miles away!).
Thanks and all the best. Btw, I'm on my 7th week waiting for my truck... luckily, I'm in no hurry

i definately bought it for that reason. it fits 6 people confrontable. i have 2 kids & i plan on keeping this truck so when they get older & need me to run them around places with their friends i will have enough room. my husband has a sports car that only fits the 4 of us & really nothing else. we take the truck everywhere. its very useful. i have 2 dogs too. so i hope that answers your ?. i wouldn't of bought it if it wasn't a quad.
Not only is it nice to be able to haul 4-6 people in relative comfort, I am also able to haul stuff in the bed and tow something at the same time. Something I do often with my parents and the boat and all the other goodies that go in the bed.
No kids, no wife, just me and the dogs, girlfriend too, but the main reason is because of the seating in front...leg room, and store stuff in back seat too..I travel and carry all kinds of crap there.......plud it was the best used truck I drove.....IMO
I live in very rural North Carolina. I use the bed at least twice a week to dump the garbage. I cart my two little girls (the heartbeat of my life, the Ram following close second) on the weekends when the wife works. It also tows a travel trailer. This truck is my daily work horse. I bought it 3/6/05. Bringing it in on Wednesday for the 12k service.

Mine's mostly just 1 or 2 people, but the quad was what really sold my wife. We travel about 120 miles ea way to the lake every weekend in the summer and have a 75# golden retriever, so the back seat ends up hers (the dog's, not my wife). Plus, like the other posts, I can throw alot of my work files and crap in the back during the week.
I don't "have" to have the extra room, but it's sure nice.

I use mine for work 90% of the time (alone) but when my wife and 3 kids and a friend get in to go camping or whatever, it sure is nice. I also agree with carrying work papers, blue prints and crap in the back seat area. Hard hat goes well under the back seat as well.
