Default Idle Problem and Ticking Noise ???

The idle on my '06 4.7 used to fluctuate up and down while cold, it would then idle low while stopped at a light. I removed the control valve, cleaned it along wit the throttle body. Now, it holds steady around 900 when cold but it does vibrate a bit. When it warms up, and at a light, the rpms hold at 700 and then drop to 500, I then tap the gas and it holds at 700. Is the faulty component most likely the air control valve or throttle position sensor?

It has also developed an intermittent ticking noise at idle, there most of the time. It seems to come from the bottom of the engine. It sounds like a lifter, but I can really notice it from the bottom towards the back. Converter??? It only has 45k miles. I'm also getting this raspy feel through the steering wheel/gas pedal that seems to come and go.

Thanks in advance.

I had to replace my Throttle position sensor because of the same issue of my rpms. That solved my issue for me. Also I had the ticking sound too. Turned out a had a broken bolt on my exhaust manifold on the drivers side closest to the fire wall. Check and see if thats the problem or not

Yeah, check each and every one of those exhaust manifold bolts as there is one likely broken.

It is supposed to drop to 500 at a hot idle after driving awhile. Even the Hemi does that.
