dunno who would have it locally, even 4 Wheel Parts has to order from warehouse and it takes a day.

But that is the EXACT reason I bought the Flex-a-Lite, at the time I put mine in, my truck was barely a year old and I was not going to trust a used fan out of a junker to a $30k+ truck. I know guys have the used fans and run them just fine, but I just didn't think it was worth saving $200.

This is the one I use. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-180/ I bought mine at Moe's but this is a link to Summit. The local parts place should also be able to get this for you.

+1^^ Thats the way I went also... I know these j/y fans have worked great for some guys but my way of thinking is, there are some things that you don't buy from a J/Y. just my 2 cents.

Jay I think you should just leave the clutch fan on for a little while and order a new taurus fan. I found this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91...item19bf9651ab, you could also just order a new motor for the fan and replace it.

This is what I have been telling everyone. Any 95-prior Taurus tht is in the junkyard has got to have over 100kmi on them. So basically your getting a 100kmi 15yr old fan.
i think buying a fan that hasn't been used or tried out yet is a bit scary. Especially since MOST of the fans out on the market are way overrated. Think about it, if the Taurus fan draws 40A of current on Low and almost 60A on high and can spike to well over 100A on start -up, and some of these other generic fans only draw 20 or 30A max, then they aint pulling the air they say they are.
Also, most fans are rated in the open, when they are suppose to be rated when mounted smack up against a radiator which puts alot more stress and draws much less air than out in the open. Taurus fans are rated legitamately just as Black Maginc's are, but $$$$.
If you are interested.....I still have my Brand New in the Box OEM Motorcraft 2-speed Taurus fan that I havene't sold yet. PM me if interested.

The taurus fan should only draw a little over 40 amps on high http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...cfan/index.php, you're right about the startup draw though.
