That's where mine was. I had to unplug the huge wiring connector in order to get at it though.

Yeah, that made me mad. What a crappy design. I managed to get it plugged in without unplugging the big connector. Makes me want to find the engineer (or bean counter) responsible for that location and kick him in the jimmies as hard as I can...

I agree with the moose it took a bit but you can get it plugged in without taking that mess apart, and I'm not sure how long the pigtail is exactly but i know the one that came with mine was at least 2 ft. They give you plenty to work with.

Thanks. I looked in my dako for kicks and grins, and now I know what I'm looking for based on those pictures (even though mine doesn't have the blue connector, it's the exact same as the pictures). Just a matter of finding a good spot to mount it without screwing into the dash.

Thanks all, I found it. Dad's truck is NOTHING like those pictures that were posted. The connector was on a 4" pigtail and was taped to the E-brake cable, thus why I couldn't find it. I saw the bolt that is referenced next to the OBD port, but I think that might be too far over. What was the right-side option?

If you go back to the thread mention above I posted a pick of the placement I went with.

Damn, though, if I new there was a dang prewired plug, I could have done this myself...I paid $35 to have it done. Oh Well, they gave me the run down on using it, and had a box they connect to the 7pin to show everything works properly. I'd pay $20 for that service. Of course they are liable if it isn't wired right, so I'd pay $15 for that. I'm okay with it, I guess.
