Default 06-09 headlights stopped working

Has anyone had an issue with 06-09 low beams not working. I've read other posts about this. Only low beams stopped working. High beam still work as usual. I heard it's something with the computer or hope fully a fuse. Any input would be great

Are we talking a Dodge Ram here? Because your signature says 03 but doesnt say what make or model and your name references a Dakota.

It could be TIPM related or PDC related I would think.

Ok, thanks.

Have you verified 12v at the headlight socket? Made sure both bulbs actually do work? Other than those basics, i would do some thread searching and see what issues others have had and what their resolutions where. Those two i mentioned earlier are the only other two I know.

I dont know why the low beam wouldnt work...are you trying to use HIDs or what?

The 06 has a single bulb that has a magnet behind it which pulls it from the low position into the high beam position. Can you hear a click inside the bowl when someone flips the high/low switch?

Check your fuses. You should be getting a "lamp out" signal on the dash too I would think.

Actually I was usinig hids. And I was using the low beam as a trigger for the hids to turn on. One day my hids wouldn't so after some trouble shooting I everuallu just plugged in the original factory halogen bulbs and found that the low beams wouldn't light. The highs do. But the lows do not. There isn't a fuse for the headlamps. Just parking light. And they are fine. I've read that this may be a computer problem. Also no my truck doesn't have any lamp out lights or anything. Any ideas???

Yeah if Im not mistaken, those trucks dont have fuses and the beams are controlled by the TIPM in the PDC (fuse box). Take a meter and check for voltage on both the lower and high beam wire in your headlight harness and see what you have with the switch on and off.

I'd check at the socket with a DMM for low beam power. If you get nothing, your TIPM could have turned off the low beam circuit from not sensing enough power being drawn. Dealer was sure that my cluster related problem was due to that, but it actually wasn't.
How long have you had your HID's and how are they wired.
More info the better or else we are shooting in the dark, especially for aftermarket stuff.

Also, are you sure your low beam connection is not corroded or came loose? You should have a relay for that and it should be dioded for protection.

Well actually I my hid relays triggered by the push button fog light switch And the low beam triggered my compressor. These factory wires did nothing but act as a trigger. Power wasn't drawn from them other than to turn on the relay. I assume I causes this to happen I don't under stand why. It worked great for about a month. Now no low beam
