So my windshield wipers have been going stupid on me a little bit at a time for a while now. When I first turn them on none of the intermittent settings work. I have to crank it to a faster speed then turn it back. And for the first few seconds it is on, if I turn it off they will just stop right where they are in the middle of the windshield. Then the entire time they are running the intermittent settings are all screwy. They just sort of go when they want to go.

I have no idea where the "brain" is that runs those things. Is it easy to get to? Easy to replace?
