Default Need a catalytic converter...

I have an 04 4.7L v8, and my truck is giving the catalytic converter error code. I've looked online for a few days and haven't found anything that I can order. I live in California, so that makes all the difference. Almost all the ones I see aren't legal here, but are in the other 49 states...
What are my options here? What do you estimate that would cost at a dealer?

What code are you getting? No one can give you the price for the dealer unless they work at that delaer you are thinking about going to. If you want real prices then you are going to have to pick up the phone and call some local shops. I know CA is a PITA but anything OEM should work.

There are some parts manuals in the link in my sig. You can download the one for your truck and get the part number and call the dealership and go from there if you think the cat is your issue.

But getting us the DTC codes will help the most.

More than likely, the O2 sensor is bad. I would try that first.

+1. I don't know about the 4.7L V8, but I know on the 04 HEMI's most have two cats, driver and passenger side.

Get us some codes. What's your mileage, have you been splashing in water recently, or go four-wheeling?
