Anyone have an alarm installed?
I just noticed earlier today my passenger window has a bunch of scratches from what I think was someone trying to jimmy my door open. Not sure when it happened but it was between friday and today. Im now in the market to get an alarm. Does anyone have any suggestions? I saw a few viper alarms at bestbuy that im interested in.
I didnt think i would need an alarm but since im working on upgrading my sound system I would hate to find it gone one day. Thanks to all

I am looking at alarms as well, my truck got broken into in my driveway a week ago all that was taken was my ipod touch, figure it was a kid as I had a garmin gps in the center console, a home depot gift card and some other stuff. Nothing was damaged either, left my head unit alone, amp, sub and so on. I have been looking at vipers with remote start, but not sure what I will get.
I have a alarm in mine, I have quite a bit of money tied inside my cab and I'd like to keep it there, I have other means of protection if someone does get in lol, but I'll know about it right when they do. I have a 2 way alarm that basically controls my whole truck from push of a button, its a Scytek 2 way security system. I'm wanting to get the Jimmy Jammer just for extra protection since it's so easy to get into our doors.

I got my truck as a salvage title after it was stolen. I went the inexpensive route with an Avital alarm, which if I remember correctly is made by the same company that makes Viper. The Avital is a no frills alarm.
Since you have scratches on the window. it sounds like the thief had no idea what he was doing. It's embarrassing how quick and easy it is to break into the Ram's. THe Jimmi JAmmer makes sense as a way to stop someone from using the screwdriver trick, but last time I looked they wanted $100 to do a Quad cab. If I could figure out the shape needed by trial and error, I could make the same plates out of steel for dollars rather than a HUNDRED dollars. I'm hoping the alarm and keeping valuables out of sight will stop anyone from trying to steal this truck again.

Thanks everyone for the responces. Im going to look into getting a jimmy jammer. I didnt even know something like this existed.
Im not sure what options to get with my alarm. I thought I wanted like a motion sensor or something so I know if someone gets to close to my truck, but from ive been told it seems like just more stuff to add to the alarm.
Not sure what to look for in an alarm. What do you guys have as far as options go. motion sensors, highly sensitivity etc.
Any recommendations??? What do you guys think of the viper alarms?

I would not do motion. I do have a glass break and two shock sensors. One shock sensor is built in the Clifford 50.7x and does good for the font half of the truck but gets very little response from the rear. So I added another shock sensor to the back. My hood and tool box have pins. I have a DEI backup battery (big and HEAVY) and one siren under the hood and another one in the truck.
