so i took the IPM out today, didnt really find anything funny, maybe the positive battery connection was a little dirty but not bad. i cleaned all the grounds that i saw near by.

put it back in , still the same problem. in fact the moment that i connected the neg batt terminal the wipers started up on their own again. 3.5 full swings, wiper stops dead in the middle of the window.

when i use the stock key fob to lock the doors, the horn bearly sounds at all

still have ABS, brake, and speedo that jumps around

still need some help

thanks for any?

Hey man, today is your lucky day. A buddy of mine has an 02 Ram and had the almost exact issues and it turned out it was the module or Fuse panel under the hood. Some were notorious for corrosion and the truck being all integrated can really cause things to muff up. Called the dealer here in Canada and a new one was 850$ so a local junkyard found him one for 300$. Make sure the module has all the same options as your truck and your good to go. Has to be from the same year as well. Good luck!!

If you don't mind, just so I don't end up buying a fuse block for nothing. Can you give me a list of symptoms he had to compair to my own?

I have

Jump speedo
Abs/ brake light
Wipers come on and off on their own
Wipers don't stop in the down position
Wiper delay doesn't always work
When using the key fob door lock, the horn beep doesn't work
Trans shifts according to what the speedo says, even if it's wrong
Cruse control works according to the speedo display, even if it's wrong
Every now and then truck dies
When using extra power, like raising my plow, the abs light will come on and the dinger comes on each time I raise the plow and have a heavy amp draw
Once the truck died , and had problems restarting with "no buss" reading in the odometer display

Default Same Issue

Hey, I am having the same issue with my '02 Ram. I have replaced the PCM, FCM and the rear wheel speed sensor.

Was anyone else able to solve this issue? It seems to me like a wiring problem, although upon visual inspection I found nothing wrong.

Thanks.

Correction I meant PDM - Power Distribution Module (fuse box) not PCM

There is another thread about a problem with the code P0500 and the speed sensor or rear abs sensor.

Please check out:

Lift up your fuse panel.. the one in front of your battery, there will be a red wire that will most likely be broken or all green, simply cut and replace and it will be fixed. it is roughly under where the A/C fuse will be. That fixed my problem.
