My shop is pushing Valvoline Max Life ATF since that is what they have in bulk. The only problem is according to Valvolines website, Max Life ATF does NOT meet ATF+4 Specs. It's listed as a DEX/MERC fluid only. That is the only way it is offered.
My guess is that will make the tranny flush an impossibility.

They told me that I could bring my own fluids next time. Maybe you could ask for that option as well. I'm going to run with this Wolfshead (atleast it is atf+4) for a while then do a flush with Mopar next time. Speaking of, when should the next tranny fluid change be if we are around 70k now. I was thinking at 100k.

I just got my truck back. I had the following done:
Drop trans pan, new filter and gasket, Trans flush with new Valvoline ATF+4.
Change front and rear Diff fluid with Valvoline 75W90.
Change Transfer case fluid with ATF+4.
Rear pads and rotors.
Total cost was $530.00.
The only thing that annoyed me was the fact that after inspecting their work, they did not remove the front and rear Diff covers, the sucked the old fluid out and then replaced it. They claim it's better this way because there will be no chance of leaks. Whatever. But i guess in the long run, it's no big deal. Next time ill insist on the coveres being pulled.
The other thing that is making me nuts is the fact there is no real way to tell if they did in fact use ATF+4 in the tranny. Originally they said they use the Valvoline MaxLife ATF. But after checking the website, Valvoline claims it is not for use in ATF+4 applications. So before i brought the truck in, i insisted they use the ATF+4. That was a week ago. When i dropped the truck off this morning, he said they had 2 cases of ATF+4 to use. So i hope they did in fact use it. I have heard that +4 has a unique smell. So i smelled a bottle of it at the auto parts store and then smelled my dipstick. They seem to smell the same. So i guess ill relax.
When i got home today, i used a suction gun and with the truck turned off, removed and replaced all the Power Steering fluid i could with ATF+4. Ill do it again in a week to try and freshen that up.
Thank you to all for your help.

NV290, the only thing that concerns me is that they used 75w-90 in the rear diff? I brought mine to the dealer for the diffs and they used 75w90 in the front and 75w140 in the rear with the additional LSD additive. You may want to double check this. Do you have LSD rear diff? If not, you may be okay.. They told me I have LSD (they refer to it as AntiSpin) although when I get stuck in the mud it only feels like one wheel has power back there.. FYI, the dealer does not open up the diff's either, they suck it out the same way. Next time, I want my diff opened so I'll probably just do it myself.
How much of your bill was for the transmission and diff flushes (excluding brake job)? Also, did they do the transfer case as well? That is the same ATF+4 fluid.
