Warranty And Exhaust Work Double-Check.
Hey guys. I'm about to order an AT3030 for my truck as well as a Magnaflow y-pipe. I know a muffler swap is ok, but I just wanted to make sure that a y-pipe replacement and getting some of the pipe in front of it redone is ok too. From what I've heard as long as you don't touch the cats or anything forward of them your still good warranty wise, but I wanted to check and make sure I was right here before I started ordering parts. If I can't I'll just can getting the y-pipe replacment and just swap the muffler out. Thanks.

You would be walking a very fine line. My dealer said anything behind the cats is game. Cats and infront will void.
I suppose my 50state legal JBA shorties have voided my warranty??? I'd go bonkers on them if they tried pulling that card!
Cutting the pipe that is part of your cats is an iffy. If your really concerened. i wouldn't do it or would specifically ask your warrantying dealer.

I'll call and ask next week or drop by on my next trip through town. I hope they ok it, but it's not worth losing a warranty over to me. The stock y-pipe and bends between it and the cats just look horrible to me. It's all crimped up. Like it was just made to fit in quick and not for good flow.

I went by today and talked to the top mechanic at my dealership and he said anything behind the cats is fair game. He did warn me though that it's not gonna be what I expect with the MDS engaged. Said it will sound like "crap". I've heard some of the horror stories about that before and he's probably right, but maybe it won't be all that bad with the AT3030. Who knows? Everybody's preferences are different. I plan on getting a programmer sometime in the future anyway if it ends up bothering me. Now I just gotta decide if I wanna get rid of the resonator and dump it or just leave it and keep the stock tailpipe.
Oh and weedahoe the only dealer around here besides my dealer is like 50 miles away. haha. As long as mine approves it's all good.

Take the resonator off. I have mds and All these people saying that exhaust with mds sucks and sounds bad is not right in my mind. I have an 07 with res off and dual fm 40 and sounds amazing. Not alot of drone and sounds great. No problem with the sound with me. I love it. Its loud and deep but not dreadful. I did ask my dealer when I brought my truck about warranty and stuff and they said exhaust and intake wont void my warranty. I dont know if they just said that to make me buy that ram or what but thats what they told me.

I think what I'll do is leave the resonator and tailpipe for now to be on the safe side and see how I like it. If I want more I can always have that cut out and a turndown put on later. By the way does anybody know of any video clips or audio of a Hemi in MDS with aftermarket exhaust? I've never been able to find any.
