Default cat removel

i was wondering if i took out my cat would it mess my truck up it has an o2 sensor before and after. im not worried about bad gas milage i get 9 already. Iv heard of some poeple doin it. Iv tried the cutouts but its not as loud as goin out my straight pipes with big tips. Then i could run true duals with the cat gone.

i have cut the cats out of all of my vehicles...but it really depends on your states emission controls and if you still have vin inspections to where the cat has to be present...im currently running headers with 60 series flow single in dual out right in front of rear axel with a cutout in between and im not having any problems...in fact the truck is really loud with the flow...but when i open up the cutout..you cant even stand beside it and talk ...you should be fine

In any state it's illegal to remove them completely. If you do and a friendly state trooper decides to check em out your done for

I have LTs, no cats and dual cut outs. Loud? Yeah, it can be.

There is a thread on how to use non-foulers on O2's when not having any cats. It is in the FAQs at the top of this section.

Look HERE and/or do a search on the forum for "non-foulers"

I am right on the border of our county that my zip location does not require emission testing so i removed the cats. Used non foulers and was code free then i just ended up having my tuner turn off the rear 02's

Even though i dont require testing a lot of shops (i dont blame them) wont touch a vehicle with no cats but i found a shop that is good though. Will actually be going there this week so they can take out my old busted muffler and piping and replace with my new muffler/piping.

Took my cats out and loving it.

Do non-foulers or programming to get ride of the code. Mine didn't go away right away, but after a while it did.

It smells... errr... good- if you like the smell of unburned hydrocarbons.

I have Pacesetter LTs into the pacesetter y-pipe, and just have it single coming out the back -- one of these days I will go dual, but I just couldn't put up the dough then.
