Pellets, grits, black pepper, block and head sealants are all "get-by's" and not a long term fix. The same goes for Green Slime and Fix-A-Flat.

Thankfully though, the water pump is easy to change out and doesnt cost much.

My rad was leaking shortly after I bought the truck. It took me a year to (get around to) replacing the rad. I dont know which is more unhealthy, trying stop leak or waiting for it to finish busting like I did. Luckily it happened at work prior to getting on highway so it didnt overheat.

Well the egg trick worked for a while. It definitly stopped the leak and I ran it for a few months but it think little pieces of egg clogged some of the cores on my rad and I ended up changing it out after I blew a head gasket. Whether that's related to the egg...no clue.
