Your information isn't all wrong per say, but your wording is incorrect, plus other factors play a big role that aren't mentioned.
What he would need to do is get an insulation just as you stated. One that has a reflective backing such as aluminum, but then it would cover up his work of art....boooo
Weed, you need to make a shielding plate under the intake tubing for over the engine, then you would def get reduced intake temps. If you have an IR gun, you can shoot the temp at the top of the intake tubing both before/after. Whatever you read at the top of the tube, as long as the bottom is shielded, will be the temp on the inside that the air is rushing past. A metal plate that doesn't touch either the intake tubing or the engine. The shield needs to have wings on the end to guide the heat away from the tubing. standard flat piece won't work. Like 25*-45* wings should suffice. Ofcourse if you completely boxed your current intake tubing in and made air releifs at the top, you would experience the lowest temps possible. Not like your gonna buils an 8" intake to wrap you current 4" set-up...lmao

Plus, he's already stated he's got 20hrs and it is past the point of breaking even(which means that it's cheaper for you to buy a mass produced box brand intake or make your own)
I'm not pointing only at you out as there are plenty others who posted the same. It just needs to stop is all.
