5.7 hemi will not start in cold
I have a 2004 2500 qc dodge laramie wit a 5.7 hemi. I have begun having problems with it starting when the temperature falls. Below 40 it cranks and eventually starts. Below 30 it will not start at all. I have replaced the coolant temp. sensor and the iat sensor. I have cleaned the intake with no change. I took a blowdryer and heated the ETC a little and it started immediately. I have read on some of the forum threads that indicate it could be the battery but I'm not so sure. Why did warming the ETC make a difference? I am from southern WV and our Temps are doing good to make it out of the 50s in the afternoon. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
well you can eliminate your battery preety easily just take it to wal mart or a shop and get them to test it, your cca's(cold cranking amps)# is listed on your battery and could be low wich could be your problem, theyll be able to tell you if its good or not
Thank you for your reply. I will do just that. I hope that is all that it is. I am not much on mechanic work but I do some. My brother is the mechanic but he is still trying to figure this out too.
