So go from lets say the pos(+) post on the battery to where at on the ballist? Do I need to leave everything hooked up or...? I'm not the best when it comes to the electronics part Weed, sorry. I have the HID Extra kit if that helps any. I appreciate it man
Connecting the power and ground from the battery directly to the ballast means there is no switched shutoff other than disconnecting the battery. This bypasses all of the trucks circuits and the HID harness. So this is a way to test just the bulb and ballast.

I see 4th gen trucks did have this issue but is it at all possible the 3rd gens could have this.

never happened with my old set of HID's i had for over a year.. and didn't happen with these for about a week and a half until today.
There are some related issues with HID's (ballasts) and the tire pressure sensors. They emit EMI and or EFI that interfere with the sensors.

yea I just didn't know if anyone has heard of this happening on a 3rd gen ram. I googled and found issues with the newer 4th gen rams but nothing on 3rd gen rams. I guess Ill play it by ear I was just out on a drive and new issues.. Odd thing is I figure if these guys emitted enough to bug out TPMS sensors my FM radio would be seeing issues too.. that's not the case. Not really sure I'm going to play it by ear.. Worst case scenario I'll look into a different brand of kit or maybe paint these with a metallic paint or something

If it were me I would get on ebay and buy some sheets of copper foil and use it to wrap around the ballast.

hmm good idea.. I'm going to play it by ear at this point. I did the hard reset on the comp.. (left battery off for about an hour) hasn't happened again. I may see about HIDextra sending new ballasts if it appears to happen again more often.

but good news is the flickering is fixed with the resistors. Took a while to install but it's all good other than this minor glitch. did 4 separate relays one for each ballast. Also kept the coil terminals on each individual headlight.. Figured if I ever have an issue having everything done individually other than the main power feed into the relay it will make t-shooting easier.

and with all the wiring done and the way I did it I can get a new set of ballasts from somewhere else and just swap them in.

Glad to hear you got it all resolved. Now you should plan on getting some projectors....

i bought these headlights and these tail lights.

Are these HID lights? if so do I need relays or resistors? I watched the install video on them and they didnt use them.. but i definitely dont wanna fry my system.. any help would be appreciated...

BTW the truck is a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L QC

Man those tails are freaking sweet. I like those. Those headlight are HALOGEN projectors. Although you likely can fit HID bulbs in them (pay attention to what type of bulbs though - H1/H11/H13) the light output might not look right as they are not designed for HID bulbs.

Where are you getting your HID kit from?

Check out this link if you dont already have a set

I think it says something about them coming with H1 bulbs for hi and lo beams? So if they are halogen projectors I don't need anything special or no? Sorry I'm confused lol

If they come with H1s then you do not need HID kits
