Gonna do a filter and fluid change tomorrow and was wondering if there was any thing special about it or something that i need to know? I have done this on other vehicles but not this one yet just thought i'd check. THANKS
Yep.....the two wheel drive trucks have a smaller flat main filter, than the 4X4's. Make sure you have the right filter.
Also......the bolts on that tranny pan are super soft and easy to break......VERY easy.
Make sure that you put the flat pan filter flush and level to the transmission body before installing the screw. This filter plugs directly into the tranny pump and if you put it in even slightly cocked then the pump will suck air and give you codes.
Seeing as the only fluid you are supposed to use is the ATF+4, use any brand of it you can find. It is is in effect all the same. Chrysler only has 3 of 4 licensed blenders of the product. Anybody else is a licensed packager. But whether you buy Castrol, Valvoline, Mopar or Wal Mart, you are getting IDENTICAL fluid. There are no variations by brand. I just looked into this in depth before i did my tranny 2 weeks ago.
