just got an 02 ram 1500 with 4.7l has 200k. n will need motor trans n rears done. it has a fabtech 6" lift n 3" body. i am taking the body lift off and going back to 35"tires.

my ?'s are 1. can i swap the engine to a bigger one 5.9 or hemi...not sure of dodge specs.

the trans i want to have a better built one..and same with the rears. i believe from reading a bunch of posts so far i will go with 4:56 gears n unsure of the center section.

 

Ya a Hemi should drop in and as far as the tranny take a stock housing to a tranny shop and have them billet it out, if you lived round here I would suggest Bill Cummings, since you dont your pick.

I don't feel its a bum truck but I know the kid dump that bars stop leak n other products like it. But it has valetrain noise n at some point it will need an engine. But I'm gettin it for cheap so its worth it. I no it needs the front rear redone n the lower cont. Arm bushings are shot.

 

id def like to hear more bout putting a hemi in it. i cant see trying to get more power out of a new 4.7 if i can go with a bigger engine. what about the computer and/or wiring?
