i stepped on the gas for the first time yesterday, 3-4 gear my tranny made a horrible metal screeching sound, i havn't punched it in months because it used to do that. could that be some debris buildup?

ugh usually tranny sounds are not good. With that being said i would drop the pan and take a look for debris, if you have alot of debris a rebuild may be in order.

Seems to sound like a verter problem, taking a while to fill with fluid or something.

Yeah, you need to change out your filter that is located on the return side of the trans cooler. The original part # has a suffix of AB at the end and hass been replaced with the same part number and NO AB suffix at the end (Mopar part number)
Anyways, the early filters allowed excessive drain back into the TC, so the new one eliminates the problems you are having.

Shouldn't be but a $15 fix!
