Default need help Tracing white wire from alternator?

I am trying to trace the white wire that comes off the alternator connector. Found out it must be shot some where because its not charging my battery. On the wiring diagram its the wire that comes of the generator (k125 18 WT/DB) and goes to Leak Detection Pump in between there it splices of to end at the transmission relay. Thats all I know and I have no idea what any of this means so if anyone could help me out. tryed rigging a wire and fuse from the alternator connector (white wire) to the fuse box but still blew fuse and battery is draining. Alternator is charging but not my battery.

Its a 2002 dodge Ram 1500 quad 5.9. Yeah I replaced the alternator thinking it was that then the battery and PCM the regulator was bad in the PCM. My Mechenic traced it to this wire. Thanks

For those maybe wanting a bigger picture. You already know what the wire is and where it goes. You know the Alt is working but not charging the battery. The PCM controls the voltage regulator and does this with the help of a few other sensors like the battery temp sensor (assuming you have one). So you may be looking at bigger electrical issue such as the PCM.

I suspected the PCM as i said earlier but how did you determine it was the PCM?
