Where to put subwoofers
I have been trying to find a place to put a couple of small subs in the quad cab, but can't figure it out. What have y'all done?
I thought about putting it under the rear seat, but the passengers (kids) probably won't like the feel too much.

yea i know that sucks. I have a 1997 club cab and i didnt know were to put my 10in subs. I made custom boxes to go under the rear seats. its a tight fit but not to bad. The back seat vibrates alittle but its not to bad. sucks theres no where elts to really put them. the only other thing i though of what removing the middle seat ( and arm rest) and making a custom box to go in there, but i dont think you want to do that. hell i didnt. I can send you a pic if thats helpful. let me know what kind your putting in. I have 650 watt sony's.
Hope that helps.

this is what i did.
i used to have 2 200 watts subs in there, they didnt touch / bumb the seat, and they sounded pretty nice.
right now i those are 2 Kicker Solobaric L5's, 400 watts per sub rms. trust me it hits.
also what are you looking for. simple bass, or do you want to be heard from the other side of the city?
i can help you with both.

I actually made my own box with two tens under my seat. I raised my seat about 1 1/2 inch to make sure the seat didn't hit the box. As far as the kids go , my head unit has a sub control on it and i turn it down when my son is back there.
I wouldl like to know about simple base. I have one 10" Ultra Linear 1095P sub that is rated at 1000 watts, but I think that is overkill for what I'm looking for. I want my Tool and Pumpkins to sound kick ***....I'm not looking for Dre' to kick off my rear view mirror. I just like to feel the bass guitar being strummed and the kick drum being hit. Not too much. What would you guys suggest as far as speakers/amplifier for that kind of sound? I was thinking 8"s, but not sure on a descent brand (since I don't need the best, just descent)
from what iv seen, you cant really put a 12" sub with out spending ltos of cheese..
so id go with 10" since it hits pretty nice, and sounds good.
KICKER:
Sub:
specs: 10" 150 watts rms, 4 ohms. ~$50 bucks with shipping

Amp:
KX150.2, 150 watts rms, 4 ohms bridged ~90$ shipped
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...780627573&rd=1
this is perfect setup. it would bump alright.
this is as low as kicker would go, from my experiance, kicker produces pretty good lows, and its not as expensive as JLaudio..

I just installed two extant 10's under my rear seat. Finding the right box was a little tough at first. I ended up with a thunderform box that I found on ebay. There were several available but this one already had the subs in it. I mounted the amp under the drivers seat and the capacitor under the center front seat. Theres lots of room under there if you don't have the storage console in that seat. You can tune your subs to hit the way you want if you take the time to set them up correctly. I can crank the executioners or ac/dc or ludacris or whatever and it all hits hard and deep. And yes the ladies enjoy the ride.
