Default 02 brake lights

HELP!! I just bought a 02 ram. everything is great except the brake lights won't turn off. I was able to get them off by restarting the truck a few times. I just replaced the brake switch today and now I can't get them to go off at all. your help is greatly appreciated.

recheck that the switch isn't binding on anything, and the switch is adjusted properly..... that's got to be where the problem lies.

I say your switch isnt adjusted right, but the switch can only be adjusted once maybe twice.

i had the same problem, you can check it by pulling up on the brake pedal, if that turns if off then the switch is adjusted wrong, the dodge house adjusted mine for free. its the truck thinking that your still pressing the brake.

Why is it that the switch can only be adjusted once or twice?

Something with the safety and how its made. It says right on the box when you buy it. I bought one from napa for 15 bucks and was like yeah whatever. Well I adjusted it a few times to see how it works. Well i put it in and it wouldnt hold the position. I was driving and all of a sudden it messed up and my truck went crazy. ABS, E-Brake, Check Gauge, Light all freaked out and went crazy.

Long story short. Only it do it once.

ok. so the adjustment is something done internal to the unit then, not external to the unit on whatever mounting bracket it in installed on.

Thanks
