so it starts, shuts off, starts, shuts off, on, on, on until you do something or does it only have this behavior Once?
It takes 2 hits of the renote start to keep it running? Please be a little more specific.

yes it starts and shuts off and continues this behavior until i double press the remote starter button again or get in the truck and start it with the key. it only does it in the morning usually when its 40 deg or below that.

sounds like a programming issue almost like it's initially timing itself out and when you press the button again, it sets it for 15minutes or whatever you have it set at.
I was thinking at first it was a tach related issue but dont know if thats the case if it will actually stay running once you hit the button again?

Im taking this as he starts it with the remote, it runs for a few seconds until it detects something missing (RPM, hood latch pin, ECT) and then shuts down as it is supposed to do. But he doesnt realize this and so hit tried to RS it again but the same thing keeps happening.

Am i right or wrong?

Because if I am right and this is how it is working then the alarm or RS is missing something it should be seeing like the hood pin switch or RPM or something else it normally sees as a safety issue and shuts and RS down

so you hit the RS button and it starts, runs, shuts down, restarts itself, runs, shuts down....right?

Dirty, I would have to look at my manual on mine and see if it does this if it detects a misfire or such.

I have a similar issue with my 2005 Cummins. Factory RS system. Couple months of research and I've come up with nothing. Last resort is going to be bringing it to the dealer..but I can't justify $115/hr labor to diagnose this. Even with the mornings here being -30*C as of late.
