Default Hid resistor burnt out???

Ok I hope I'm no posting this for nothing but I've read alot of threads about hids. And I've installed dozens of kits my self. And on my own dodge I had to use 50 watt 6 ohm resistors on both the high and low beams. All normal right.

After a few months of use. I was driving and someone waves over to me saying my lights were flashing. I got home. And checked way resistor. All but one o the resistor were burnt out.

Is this common. Did I get te correct ones. I know I connected them right they are very simple. I had them mounted in a safe cool place. Anyway let me know

I'm fine with the use and installation of them. I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered them burring out. I did what most people do. I bougt a pigtailed 9007 female plug and wired the high an low resistors for each side. Worked great for a while then they burnt out Unless i missed it. I didn't see burnt out resistors discussed in any of the hid threads

This is like asking is light bulbs will last forever. Of course they will burn out. Some may last longer than others but they are an electrical component and can and will fail eventually,

Of a resistor was more than a Few months

Just wondering if maybe I did somethin wrong installing them or used the wrong rating Or somethig

I only asked because I've never seen it mentioned

Thank you for the recognition. I know you guys get drowned on questions about why are my hids flickering and lamp out lights. And gotten past most of that stuff
With your help. This just seemed reasonable of me to ask. Always one more thing to work on with my truck. Haha ever-changing lol

If the HIDs draw 35 watts then why would you need to add another 50 watt resistor inlieu of a 15 watt to = the 50?
