E Fan Help & Ques
hey guess im lookin at installin an E Fan on my rig...i have a 02 1500 QC 4x4 with a 5.9 360 in it..i was wantin to know if anyone out there with the same year and engine has done this to there rig and how to do it and where and what parts to get
check the FAQ section there is a DIY on the efan.
Mine's a bit different but it's the same for the install. I did the same thing as the DIY says, used a fan out of a Ford Taurus (I used a 2 wire fan, most use a 3 wire fan)
I used a NAPA temp control kit and ran it to control a solenoid (an 80 amp relay works too) to power the fan. If you use a 3 wire fan you'll only need the low speed side and a 40 amp relay works fine

You can also check in the 2nd Gen section, since your engine is rare in 3rd Gens, but prolific in the 2nd Gens. I know a bunch of guys with 2nd Gens have done this mod. PM JasonW, I know he's done it...

hey guys. im fixin to get ready to do a e fan mod soon. i have a 2002 1500 with a 5.9 360..question is...what kind of temp control module should i get and how do i wire it up and what temp do i set it at and where do i place the temp sensor or can i tie it in to the OE temp sensor. if anyone with a 5.9 out there that has done this please help cuz i dont want to mess anything up
its all the same as the other motors essentially. I just went to NAPA and asked for a temp control module for an e-fan, the whole kit had a temp probe, module, and some wiring. Cost about $35. When you're driving around take note of where your needle is sitting, adjust the temp control to come on when it's just a little bit higher. The temp probe goes through the radiator fins.
