If you can get one that will fit from a local nut and bolt shop and it is a castle nut then I would get one there as it will likely be cheaper.

If you got a local Ace Hardware I'd try there. It's funny, the one near my mom's in Florida has without a doubt, THE most extensive nut & bolt section I've ever seen. One entire aisle devoted to JUST Grade 8 and another to JUST Grade 5!
But the Ace where my place is in Georgia has one aisle for every nut/bolt/washer and screw and I can't seem to find anything but the most basic sizes & types there.

A Tractor Supply would also be a good place to check...

It's not said enough but thanks for everyones help! I picked up a M16x1.5 nut from Ace on Sunday and bolted that bad boy on. Since I've had bad luck with the driver side I'll just pay for the passenger side to get done with the alignment.

HUGE thanks for everyones help... it's greatly appreciated!

Brian =)

Now, as a side note, what do folks on here like as a ball joint press? I would like to change my ball joints after some boot damage during a wheel bearing replacement.

Most guys rent the ones at Autozone and such. I guess you could pick on up on ebay or Harbor Freight if you want

Guys, can anyone confirm that I have the correct MOOG ball joint for my truck? I bought K7467 and my repair shop just called me and said that the moog ball joint for the truck is too big. Thus the control arm snapped b/c I was pressing in too big of one. He didn't have the Moog ball joint # that they replaced it with in front of him but will have it for me when I pick it up. They got from advanced auto so my money is that it is also a K7467.

I've got a 08 1500 4x4 crew cab and when I look online (advanced auto parts) that appears to be the right part number. Below is from my email of my order.

Qty Description Brand Sku Price Total

1 Control Arm & Ball Joint Asm
front Susp; Upper; Rh; Std Cab; Incl Bushings; 1 Per Veh MOOG K620174 $76.62 $76.62

1 Control Arm & Ball Joint Asm
front Susp; Upper; Lh; Crew Cab; Incl Bushings; 1 Per Veh MOOG K620175 $76.62 $76.62

2 Lower Ball Joint
lower ; Front Susp ; 4wd ; Extd Crew Cab ; 2 Per Veh; Years:2006-2008 MOOG K7467 $58.06 $116.12

I'm feeling ripped off right now... like www.autopartsexpress.com has the wrong ball joint in a K7467 box. If that is the case that just cost me a crap load of cash.

I dunno, but I can tell you this: when Dodge went to coil overs in '06 some parts in the front end got smaller. I helped a friend with an '05 4x4 replace a CV axle and for the life of us, we could not get the inner half to stay in place. If you've ever put a CV in, you should hear and feel it snap into place and we never could.
This was on a CV purchased AT THE DEALERSHIP. After a day (and the parts man at the dealer making phone calls) it was learned that the CV on the '06+ trucks was a slightly smaller diameter BUT Dodge retained the same part number.

I know you are showing a ball joint that specifically says '06-'08, but it's entirely possible the ball joints got smaller going from the '02-'05 torsion fronts to the '06-'08 coils overs as well. Might be mis-boxed or the manufacturer could possibly even be clueless to this...

Ahh.... doing more research and this is really going to kill me. What is the chance that "Extd Crew Cab" = MEGA CAB. If that is the case then I should never work on a truck again. I'm now wondering if I should of bought K7411.

Ya Mega cab = 2500 parts not 1500.
