What rim specs to fit a 12.50 width tire on a 2008 Ram 1500?
I really want the General Grabber Red Series in a 33-12.50-17 on an American Racing Teflon Mojave Rim. I've got a 2008 Ram 1500 4x4 thats leveled and I don't want to put spacers on it. What type of rim specs do I need to fit that width?
I know the 06-08s have the coil front suspension so its a bit different than the 02-05s.

Spacers offset the pressure on the bearings so the wider you go, the more pressure is placed on the bearing.
As far as hubcentric vs non, the main difference is hubcentric placed the spacer directly in the machined center which elininates any possible movement. I've seen alot of so called hubcentric that weren't actually. They should have a lip for your wheel as well so this centers your wheel on the spacers for exact alignment.
Generic spacers not only cause the additional offset for added pressure on the bearings, there is added pressure on the lugnuts as well. That lip that the wheel lines up with takes all the pressure off the lug nuts in the horizontal to them. Their pressure is meant to be vertical, not so much "shear". Gotta use loctite on the spacer nuts and torque the bolts down evenly. Some guys have experienced vibration with spacers and this is caused mainly by the innacuracy of the machining process.

I haven't heard any first person stories about spacers failing/causing problems. Tons of second or third hand stories, but nobody reporting that THEY had problems. Hopefully that won't be me knock on wood.
I was against them till I got them, have towed way more than I'm rated for and driven a ton. I love the look also. If someone would be uncomfortable and worried about it having them I guess it wouldnt be worth it tho

I can probably get one on here for you. I have a good buddy who had a Titan who had a spacer break on him on the off-ramp of one of the interstates in Atlanta a couple years ago. I can't remember if it was I75 or I85 but he had his wheel pass him on the ramp.
At one time I had pix on my phone he sent me.
I'll have to text him and see if I can get him to join and post...
