Default Coolant Troubles

First off, I am used to Toyotas and Fords since I owned those for the majority of my life, so please excuse me if this question is dumb. My son recently got a used Dodge Ram 1500 ,2003. He accidently put coolant in his wiper fluid tank and he is worried that he really messed it up.

Do you guys think I could syphen the coolant out? How harmful would it be if I swallowed it and should I see a doctor? My wife says I shouldn't do it, but she doesn't know anything about cars Or is it not that big of a deal?

Thanks guys, I think this is a great forum

Go to home depot and buy the suction tool that plumbers use to get water out of toilets, sinks ect. and pump it into a bottle. It should be cheap and has a long tube to stick down in there.

You could just pull the wiper fluid container out and pour the fluid in a container to be recycled, then rinse it and refill w/ washer fluid.

They make a pump that hooks up to a hand drill and you screw a couple of hoses on each side (washer hoses work well). I've purchased a couple of them over the years and I think the most I ever paid for one was $6.95. They last forever, but every time I lend one out, I never seem to get it back.

Home Depot, Ace, Lowes, Sears all carry it. I bought one in a Harbor Freight for $3 once.

Get you one for this, you don't want to swallow coolant it's about as toxic as a liquid can be. Besides, you'll end up using the drill pump pretty often.

Quick little sucker too. When I got married and we bought a house, I emptied our king size water bed out with one in about 20 minutes...

Or just stick a hose in the tank and run it for 20 Min.
