Major Confusion on dash diff between years?
So I called Dodge to get a price on replacing the dash in my other truck which is a 2003 Ram 1500 and the parts manager pretty much said he needed the vin number because in that year dodge provided different styles on all the ram models... my question is what is the difference and what was offered??? Im aware that the 02 1500 was the start of the third generation but why would anything be different in 03 when they produced all the trucks as third generation... anyone who can help please do!!

no different than when you call an exhaust shop to get a price on exhaust work and they tell you they cant give you a price over the phone and that you have to bring it in for them to look at? Really? Youve never been under a Ram truck before????
There was likely no chances but just go to ebay and find an 03 and get the VIN and give it to him to ease everyones mind

I don't know if this will help, but here is a picture of my dash ('02 Ram 1500 QC 4x4 SLT). Does it look like yours?
I know if the truck was ordered with electronic hubs, the instrument panel was mounted just below the heat/air controls in the vacant space you seen in the picture.

The difference would be in which options are installed on your specific truck.
Which style radio you have... placement of 4x4 controls and other options which may
be located on your dash.
I work for Dodge and you'd probably be surprised at how many different styles there are.
Another would be the color option. Whether it has wood grain, etc.
Hope this helps.
