Default Advice on torsion bar level?

I will be putting on a 3" BL on my 2004 Ram QC 4WD in a week or so. While I am at it, I was going to crank the bolts on my torsion bar if I can find them, LOL! My question is, what is the safest amount of equal cranks on the bolts to achieve the closest level look, while not completely maxing it out and ruining the ride. From what I hear, you just don't want to take the bolts all the way in. But, I would love to hear how many turns of the bolt that you guys did. Thanks for this forum, it is absolutely amazing. Long term reader, not a big poster.

You'll have to crank em till you get 1"-2" of lift, then drive it, crank it level, repeat. There's a DIY in the FAQ section of the 3rd Gen forum here. Make sure to buy shocks that are 2" longer, if you don't you'll have a very rough ride.

you can make it level with that process , my signature picture is leveld and i just turned the bolts , its hard to tell how many times each bolt one may be more than the other like freestyledude said crank them a few measure then drive and repeat . o yeah longer shocks are a must the up travel is very short after this is done !

Thanks guys for the great advice! After it is done, do I need to measure the shocks and then go find some that is longer or what other way do you get longer shocks. I seen the faq section on shocks, but what do you guys prefer? Thanks again!

You'll have to go to a store and ask them to find shocks that are 2" longer, it just takes some cross-referencing. 4wheelparts apparently is good for this if you phone in.

i heard cranking the torsion bar makes for poor ride quality. longer shocks/ coil spring spacers is what im doing, ill let you know how that goes...

Can't do coil spring spacers without coil springs lol. Unless you've bought a newer truck than in your sig?
