Today after I got home I thought I needed to burp my cooling system and after getting cap off and letting pressure out slowly coolant was low but not bad and let it run for about an hour idiling the sounded like it was spitting out air out small tube from by pass hose is that what it was doing letting out trapped air any ideas let me no thanks 02 dodge RAM 4.7

 

Then fluid rose then over flowed then it would drop then it would rise again back and forth till I decided to shut the motor off

 

What made you think you needed to burp it? The oem thermostat on the 4.7 and 3.7 has a bleed hole in it to allow trapped air to exit the system, so you shouldn't need to burp it the old fashioned way.

 

Was told to after changing the thermistat
