Im sure it will be electronic and the 545rfe stands for "rear wheel, fully electronic". a rebuilt trans does have to go through a "re-learn".

Well he had the "re-learn" done and checked for updates...did not make a difference at all.

Could it something in the valve body sticking?

Hi there,that is a air leak for sure.Check the two short rubber hoses they do connect your transmission cooler with the cooling lines to your transmission,those connectors are worn out.Replace them with hose clips.I had the same problem.
