4x4 dash light
the idiot light in the dash that tells me I am in 4x4 in my 06 2500 doesn't work, anyone know if they burn out in the dash or a fuse that they run off
I check my manual, and fuse box and can find no fuses marked for this light, and all other dash lights work
?? so is there just one bulb/light for this one signal? or am I having a issue on something else?
thanks

thanks for the reply,
I tried to open the file/download, on the 06 but it will not open.
and I was wondering if it is for the 1500 or the 2500, as I have a 2500
My local dodge dealer will tell me if its a fuse, as they want $$$ to fix the issue
thanks

I had the identical problem on my 1500, it was a simple and cheap fix. The part is called position sensor, cost about 32 bucks and took 15 minutes to replace. I am only guessing that it would be the same for the HDs. The dealer told me it was a common problem as it is exposed to all the junk that kicks up under the truck.
The sensor goes in the front of the transfer case. Make sure the oil ring is reinstalled.

On my 2005 Dodge 2500 the Part Number is 5134375AA. I was having other work done they charged 31.50 for the part and 20.80 for labor. I have a manual transfer case. I have not found the part online so you probably will need to order from the dealer. They should be able to ship one to you.
