Default Tow Mirrors

The tow mirrors arrived yesterday from AM Auto Parts. They look just like OEM Mopar tow mirrors. They may be the same ones that bgbluram2 has? Like his, the only difference I can see is there is not a symbol on them for defrost. They were $214 delivered to my door. Time will tell on the quality. I am going to install them this weekend.

I too am interested in hearing more on the quality of these mirrors from AM as I am looking for a set for my new 2500. Sure does sound like a great deal!

The factory motors always fail early. If you have two drivers, ie moving the mirrors a lot, then they won't last long. Those motors were built with a short useful life. If you are the only driver, they should last 8-10 years, only because you hardly ever use them.

Are the mirrors you ordered from AM Kool Vue or are they another brand? I see the Kool Vue logos are embossed into the plastic in the front of the arm but I can't tell what the AM mirrors and the site does not say.

Default Tow Mirrors

I am not sure if they are the Kool Vue mirrors. The only thing that stood out to me on the box was "made in Taiwan". I will pull them out of the box again tomorrow to install them and will take a closer look to see if a brand name appears on them anywhere. I even sent an e-mail to AM Auto before I bought them to try and get more information, but all they did was refer me to the description on the web page. The price seems too good to be true, when compared to the ones sold by Mopar. This raised a lot of red flags with me.

Well you never know. I am taking the shifter off the column and putting a floor shift in. I called the local dealer yesterday with the P/N for a steering column cover for a standard truck and was told the price was $45. Yet i went online and ordered the same part yesterday elsewhere for 30 shipped. The dealers just LOVE to price jack chit.

Yea let us know how those mirrors work out for you. I dont want to spend that kind of money from a dealer. Got a boat that i pull and have a hard time seeing whats behind me, so it would be nice to have somethin like that but not for that kind of money

Hey Guys-

Just an update, the AM Auto tow mirrors are installed on my 07 Ram. They look absolutely awesome. What a difference in the look of my truck. They also function excellent. The visibility difference is amazing over the stock units I had. I was also able to try out the heaters today as we are getting a pretty good snow storm here in upstate NY. The heaters worked perfect. They are an excellent upgrade on a 3rd gen. Ram.
