Default Train Horn Install Help

Can someone tell me how to wire a airhorn with a compressor and air tank to a seperate switch . I want to leave the factory horn alone . I got it hooked up today but the compressor is not turning on my gauge is saying it is at 50psi . The compressor works I hooked it straight to the battery to check it and pumped it up to 150psi . After a couple of bursts the pressure went down to 50psi. I think I just don,t have the switch and or the relay wired correctly or the pressure switch is bad . Hopefully someone has a diagram on how to do this.

+12VDC from the battery to the high-current side of the relay. The other side of that high-current lead to the compressor. Negative of the compressor to ground. +12VDC to the switch, continuing to the low-current side of the relay. Other side of that low-current lead to ground. You can put a push-button or whatever switch inline on the low-current side. Don't forget the fuses - ~2A on the low-current side, ~30A (?) on the high-current side.

I'm still a little confused were do I hook up the two wires for the presure switch that is on the tank . I think that is were i went wrong because the compressor is not turning on when the pressure goes down real low. I know the pump works because i hooked it up straight to the battery and pumped the tank up to 150psi. Can you draw a diagram for me not very good when thier is no pictures.

Hey Weed I just downloaded that drawing . I have one question where do i connect the wire comeing of the air horn to . If I have the drawing right on side of the pressure switch goes to 86 on the relay and the other side of the pressure switch goes to one side of the switch in tha cab the other side of the switch in the cab I just connect up to a 12v supply so that when the truck turns on the switch in the truck has power. So I quess I just need to now were to connect the wire that comes off the horn to

With my horns, I just connected my OEM wiring from the OEM horn harness plug to the air valve for my air horns. So technically I do not have a OEM horn any more but thats what i wanted. I can use the center of my steering wheel to make them work. However, you could get simply creative and add a double throw switch and flip back and forth between the OEM horn and air horn as desired

Thanks weed I have a switch under the dash all hooked up just didn't know witch side of the switch to connect the air horn wire to I would think It would connect to the side the pressure switch is on and the onter side would just be the keyed 12v power .

Connect the switch to the low-current side of the relay, then connect the other low-current pin to the pressure switch.
