Impressive. Yeah i didn't realize the plug I was pulling out to clean the TB was the IAT haha. Figured it was some sort of air flow sensor. Yeah if I can pick one up for $10 I may as well go ahead and change it out.

I've gotta say I disconnected the IAT in hopes of making the ECU set things to default when it goes into the no-start state and it made no difference. I did order a new IAT sensor anyway but I am not hopeful that itll solve the issue. Any more recommendations?

Sorry, just to clarify, the SC does NOT give AFR. You need a wide band (Innovate LC-1) for that

You are correct. I checked this out while running through the diagnostics menu trying to see what I could monitor.

Any general consensus I've been getting regarding the issue tells me that the TPS is suspect. I know this would require a new TB so I am considering making it an upgrade to a fastman ported TB which would only run me $230-ish.

Before I pull the trigger on that i'm just looking for any other ideas on possibilities. Thank you!

Its possible you have injectors that are leaking through, and essentially flooding the engine by slowly dripping in, when you crack the TB, you're allowing more air and it fires. I'd be curious to see if when you have a hot or warm start after sitting for a while if you get a puff of black on startup. You might consider hooking up a fuel pressure guage to a fuel rail, set up the same conditions and see if you get leak down after some time of being shut off

There's no puff of black smoke, and startup is smooth which leads me to believe it's less likely that the problem is the result of bad injectors. Hooking up a fuel pressure gauge during the problem condition, fuel pressure was dead on spec (as long as the key was in the run position) and drops right down when you turn it off.
I have considered that possibility of fuel dripping in but as far as I know pulling a plug during the non-starting condition didn't result in seeing soaked spark plugs/cylinders full of fuel.

That's on my back burner of possibility ideas. Anything else that it might be?

bumping this again with the new question of, do you think it wise that I go ahead and order a fastman TB? I'm kinda figuring at worst I gain throttle response and a better intake to go with my dynatech headers (shipping to me as I speak :]), and at best it'll also fix my starting issue if it is indeed related my throttle positioning sensor.

So I'm bringing this thread back to life cause I put on the fastman TB and while it gave me great throttle response, it still hasn't fixed the start issue! I'm puzzled.

Id like to add that the truck has a brand new IAT sensor, brand new throttle body(and TPS) and I even set the superchips to stock and I still get the starting issue! Where to go from here?
