Wow so I just read an entire thread about how to install an electric fan. It looks like a lot of work.

After reading the entire thread I am definitely intimidated. With my D being my daily driver I need to know exactly what I need and that I won't have any problems.

I got a taurus fan (they fit perfectly in the fan shroud) and a dc controller (but the cheaper hayden controllers will work just fine...), the taurus fan is a 2 speed fan, high speed isn't necessary so i used only the low speed. my controller hooked up to battery (and battery ground) and to fan (low speed and ground wire). temp probe from controller to radiator fin...done..

I have almost 200k miles on my 05 ram (efan since 30k)...I race it and tow my boat a bunch with it..after the one time my wires fried, i always carry my clutch fan in the bed (haven't had to use it yet)... this is an everday mod and reliable depending on your installation...

rad probe sounds like drilling into the rad is necessary.

Nah, you just wiggle it through the radiator (near the top hose). No drilling necessary. The e-fan is a very easy install. Just be sure you follow the wiring instructions and use fuses!

yup, what Mike says..probe is small enough that you just insert between the fins..
