Battery Amps, and O2 sensor , two in one Q
so today i noticed that the batttery meter is above half like normal as to where it has been for me , i pulled up to the red light and the meter started going down and under half by the time the light turned green , the heater slowed down and i could hear the difference once i pushed the gas and got the amps back up ,
Also the check engine light came on , i plugged it into the obd scanner and it said O2 sensor , i also noticed a hole im my muffler could that throw off the O2??

Did your RPMs drop when you stopped at the light? A lot of guys report dropping RPMs or even stalling when stopping at lights and signs. If this happens then the engine slows down when means the accessories are turning less which means less power the alt is producing. You can see the domino effect here Im sure.
On top of that, you have an 04 which is the truck most guys have that report this issue.
So what say ye'? Did your engine RPMs drop or lower? Im betting they did.

If it starts and runs fine then I wouldnt check the battery but then again, it doesnt cost anything to get checked out. I would clean the back side of the TB first and maybe replace the EGR. Check the trans fluid and make sure it is all there. After that i would look at the TSB I posted the link to

The Voltmeter moving is perfectly normal. Dropping lower because your heater draws alot from the electrical system and at an idle, your battery does not get charged! Once your rpms rise your charging begins and can have a sharp active/cut-off region which is why you seen it spike. Most vehicles you get in will have a drop in heater fan output at idle as compared to when you are moving due to the above reason(charging). I've noticed this in many many vehicles.
If you have a voltmeter you can do a bettery check yourself. HERE is a link.
