Default I need some AC help

I am having some issues here. So here is the whole story:

07 1500 With a 4.7 with 60+k. AC started getting warm on the driver's side last year then just got warm all together.

Took it to the stelaership. They said you have a leak, most likely a compressor and your condenser fan motor is dead. Thay wanted 500 Bucks to do just the condenser motor and replace the accumulator. I said hell no, they replaced the accumulator for 100 Bucks.

Went to VatoZone got a new condenser fan and motor for 80 Bucks and did it myself. AC was cold for a about 2 weeks then got warm again.

Refilled the system and looked for leaks with a sniffer, found absolutely nothing.

After a month the AC was warm again.

Summer is coming and I am back at it. Recharged the system with 2 cans. One was die and 134a(no BS stop leak garbage).

Checked it with the sniffer under the hood, found nothing. Looked for die with a good UV light same thing, nothing.

WTF?

Now, I been scowering the internet to try to find something. I thought it was the compressor, but I would say I would be able to detect some sort of a leak if it was.

Now, I am thinking evaporator maybe. . . . . . How do I diagnose if it is?

you would have to isolate the evaporator and run a pressure test on it to see if it leaks. Buy a gauge and figure out how to hook it up to the evap and fill to a certain pressure with air. See if it holds or drains off.

How? Good idea though. . . .

I am thinking of sniffing out the vents and drain tube.

Can't think of much else.

I would bet more so it being the clutch on the compressor itself the shaft that comes out of the compressor will tend to leak if you can run the AC for a bit shut the truck down and stick the sniffer to the back side of the clutch and i would bet that will be where your leak is

I only wish. . . . .

We finally found the leak.

I removed the blower motor and this sensor

What is it?

Then stuck a UV light in there.

Yup, green die on the fins of the evaporator. The evaporator is so dirty in this truck. He always has lots of people in it and I guess it packed on the dust.

I could barely see the fins on the evaporator itself because the fur was so thick. I guess it stayed wet from moisture and corroded the aluminum.

This is on a 07 truck with 60k. . . What the hell?

Now I will be removing the dash. . . . Yay.

Any guides on this?

You are not allowed to hot link, I guess.

Got it, either way. . . . Very helpful, thanks.

How much refrigerant does the system take in the Ram?

Should be a sticker under the hood with the proper amount printed on it.
