Default Musty smell from vents

I get a musty smell after the heater has been blowing for a lil while. I think it did it occasionally last summer with the A/C, but has recently been increasing in occurances and getting a bit worse and less bearable. I've been keeping my eye on the coolant level and none is disappearing, so I don't think heater core is seeping or anything...Any other ideas? My parents had an Intrepid that did a similar thing only with the A/C and the dealer said they put this deodorizer in the system and that seemed to clear it up. Could this be a problem with the heat system too? Is said deodorizer available from a store, or do I have to go to the dealer?

Im not sure if Rams have an environmental filter (indoor) for the ac air or not. My gfs volvo has one and i had to change it because it was mildewed

If you run the ac and dont turn it off before parking the truck, the water will grow mildew and stink. thats the cause sometimes

My wifes Mini Cooper was bad about this last summer. We got a can a Lysol and sprayed it in the vent intakes under the hood. We used the entire can over a few days and it went away.

Theres actually a BG product that works even better if you can find it. Maybe a local parts store or a shop willing to sell it.

Just turn on the A/C and full blower then just spray into the cowl.
Fixed up my pop's Avalanche and everything else GM. My Dodge hasn't done it to me yet.

Do you have more info on this?? I googled it and can't seem to find it, to see what it was called, so I don't feel like an idiot and walk into stores asking "Do you have any BG product??"

Thanks

You might try looking for a dead mouse in the heat/insulator shield under the hood and other nooks and crannies. I'm not kidding about this. I live in the mountains of Colorado and have fried several pack rats and field mice with my Ram.
