I just bought a 2003 Ram 4.7 and the a/c does not work. With the truck on i turn on the a/c but no air comes thru butwhile checking the lines around the engine they are cold. What could be the problem?

 

You have to blower on and no air is coming out? If thats the case then the reciculation door has broken off and is laying on top of your blower intake. I just discovered this same problem on my 05 1500 and it had the same exact symptomes

 

what would be the repair

 

ive had to pull the dash out of the truck and replace the reciculation door assembly. i found a place online where u can order a/c dash components but for the life of me i cannot find it again

 

Can you hear the blower motor working?

 

no the blower motor does not turn on and there is no air comig thru the vents), also i removed the lower dash and i think the blend door is working, (its the one when you switch for the air to go thru themain vents or thru the top dash vents right)

 

If the blower motor does not come on at all then you need to take it out and test it by jumping 12v to it. If it doesnt work them replace it it. If it does then check your fuses or the resistor block

 

Probably the motor is bad. I am assuming you have checked it in all 4 speeds. This would rule out the resistor block if high doesn't work either. As weed said, if the fuses are good, pull the motor and hotwire it.

 

how easy is it come out. I removed the glovebox and the lower dash, would i have to remove the entire dash or does it come out from the bottom
