Engine cranks over for a bit before starting...
Hey all,
I'm back with another interesting problem
I have a 2004 Ram 1500 5.7L and it is running very well besides this start up problem. Every time I start it cold, the starter will crank over for about 5-10 seconds before firing up and running fine. If I turn it off and start it back up again within about 30 mins it will fire up no problem. But, if I let it sit for awhile, it will do the same thing.
The starter is turning over perfectly. I've kept up with all of the maintenance so I am a bit confused by this.
Could it be something with the fuel system?
Thanks for any help!

Fuel system may be draining back into the tank from a bad check valve in the pump assembly. You might try checking the fuel pressure on a cold start-up to see of it is up where it should be.
