I just put a set of Westin 3in tube nerf bars on my 2006 quad cab Ram. Its the kind that simply mounts to the body bolts. This is my first truck and I was just wondering if the bars are suppose to be stiff, or flex down a bit when we use them. Currently they flex down when you step on them. Its not alot of flex but Im just worried that the body bolts will break off.

 

If you installed them properly (used all the brackets and bolts) you should be fine.I have the same ones,a little give but NOT much.

 

I also have these on my D. Mine flex just a little but not a whole lot. When I tried to torque mine down the torque wrench never clicked but they sure as hell were on pretty tight.

 

Yep, same ones here. Been on for 7 years. No problems.

 

On the truck since it rolled od the lot in, no problems at all and flex is not noticeable

 

I just installed them about three weeks ago and mine have a little flex in them too. I tightened the body bolts down pretty tight and they seem to be doing fine.
