Spray on Bed Liner
Hello all, I am a new Ram owner having just purhased an 05, quad cab 1500 on Monday. So far I absolutely love it. I was a previous Jeep Wrangler owner for the last 7 years and this rig is taking a little getting used to but I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
I am scheduled to have a spray on bed liner from Line-X next week and have a question. Is it better to have the liner sprayed on the top sides of the bed or should I go with diamond plate or rails? Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

I went ahead and had the guy spray over the rail, then put on bed rails. it looks great and will also help in preventing scratches if something got under the bed rail.

now what would look killer would be diamond plate with bed rails on top of that
but just as todd said, it's all a matter of personal preference

my experience is that diamond plate on the rails allows dirt and water to get underneath and when not installed right, they will wiggle. i have sprayed over the rail on my last 2 trucks and love it...plus i doubt you'll find a lifetime warranty on diamond plate
The biggest thing I didn't like about my spray on liner was the fact that I had to go back and trim the stuff to get the tailgate to fit right. My current truck has a factory drop-in and it works well.
I prefer the factory dropin, the spray in's are rough on the hands, arms, etc when you'r putting stuff in and taking stuff out the bed. Plus it adds padding if you drop something on the bed , less chance of getting dents. The spray in's may not scratch, but the bed will dent.

If it were me i would not go over the rail with it. Some one said it help prevent scratches when in fact they have to scuff the paint to spray the liner. If your not suer if your gonna like it permanently or not, get some cheap plastice bed caps and ride on them for a while to see if your gonna like the look
