Just wondering with the dodge scanner of course, are we able to program daytime running light features?:

like im thinking just the amber corners and fogs on at start up in drive instead of low beams, than I can turn on head lights with switch as i please after/ at dusk..

thanks

Daniel Stern DRL module to convert amber turn signals to DRL's

I had a dealer disable my DRL's with a DRB III scan tool, now I wish to put this module on to regain alternative DRL's, you'll see from the instructions, that if you apply +12 volts to the Park (blue) wire, the alternative DRL's are disabled. (returns to normal park/turn signal operation).

I actually prefer to have no DRL's, but the long arm of the law might say different.

i would be careful what you do with the daytime runners, it is federal law that the lights come on when the vehicle is operating. I wouldn't want to be the fault of an accident and insurance can determine that you purposly turned the feature off.

I don't know...wouldn't it cause a problem with our trucks? When the DRL's are on, and you use your signal light, the headlight goes out. Wouldn't that interfere somehow with the amber DRL?

I would think this would be the case. The PCM is programmable for either on or off. If you tried to wire into the parking lamps, it would feed back into the PCM when using the turn signal and possibly fry the PCM. Like mentioned above, the DRL's on my 07 Grand Caravan also kill the head lamp when the turn signal is used so that it os easier to see the signal.

I didn't read the OP's post well enough, it states he'd like to move the DRL functions to his running lights via programming the BCM/PCM to do so. This won't exactly work because the BCM/PCM will only allow what it's firmware is programmed to allow. That means for a US market truck, the DRL's can be enabled or disabled, and for a CDN market truck, nothing can be disabled. Actual "moving" of funtions to other bulbs isn't a possibility.

For my dealer to be able to disable the DRL's, he had to access the BCM/PCM with the DRB III scan tool, and use the dealer prep section to declare the truck a USA model, rather than a Canadian model (this did not cause my odometer to increment in miles), which then allowed him to access the portion where he could actually shut the DRL's off.
My DRL's never did shut the corresponding headlight off when the turn signal was activated, so that was never an issue.

The Danial Stern lighting module will simply re-locate all DRL functions to the turn signals.

Just to clarify, im not trying to disable my DRL just trying to change it from headlamps on for DRL, to corners instead.

I not looking for laws, etc. just more asking if it possible or not with the dodge scanner.

Thanks for all the replies.

Definitely not on your '04. I've been all through the Dealer DRBIII menus and the only option for lights is the country code, which basically only turns on/off DRL depending on the country you choose.
I was trying to find a way to keep my fogs on with high beams without having to run a wire between the relays and was all thru those menus.

For '06+ trucks it may very well be possible, because there is an entire TIPM menu for their Totally Integrated Power Module and I've been told guys with that setup have a feature for the fogs with high beams as well as a host of other light options.

We have a simple PDC (Power Distribution Center) and use conventional fuses and relays for light functions. So you would have to get creative with re-wiring to do any modifications to light features...
