Default 2002 1500 ram fuel issue

wanting to find out if anyone knows were i can get a larger fuel tank for my 02 1500 I have 20 gal and with 10 mpg its just not big enough

You actually have a 26 gallon tank , I have the same truck and they only have 3 tanks for that year 26 ,34, 35 gallon tanks. When your gas gauge hits E there is usually a 6 gallon reserve in mine if this helps.

no its a 20 with 2 gallon reserve I ran it empty and it took 21 gallon to fill it. were could one find the larger tank and will it drop in with out any mods.

Ok I wont argue the point I guess the manual is wrong and you got a 20 gal tank. I know tractor supply has a large bed tank that looks like a tool box not sure what size it is but it looks big like 50 gallons big. You could check the local junk yards and see if anyone has the 35 gallon tank but you might need an 8ft bed for that to fit.

yea i looked in to the in bed tanks but was really hopeing to be able to get a drop in tank without having to do any mods I know they make them for the disel trucks.

I swapped my 26 out for a 35 so it might be possible if you know what sizes came on other years and locate one
