Default Fuel Delivery Problem

Okay Ram brainiacs, need a little help here. 2007 Ram 1500, 4.7 flex fuel, 4WD. Was driving home from the farm today and the engine just quit, like it was out of gas, yes there is gas in the tank 3/4 full. Got out popped the hood, checked all connections etc... Loosened and retightened the gas cap as I was getting back in, the engine starts. Go to the Sonic to get some food, kept the engine running, it stalls. Loosened the gas cap and tightened it again, it starts. Go to the auto parts store across the street, they put the computer on the truck and it doesn't show any codes. The engine starts and we head down the road, it stalls, go through the same procedure as before three more times until it dies within 100 yards of the dealership, and won't start again. Had to have it towed 100 yards! Any ideas what it could be? Once again, the computer showed no codes. Could it be the fuel pump, a sensor? without a code? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Possibly the pump. I can't see the cap causing it to die. If it leaks, you will get an evap code. If it seals, no problems. Either way, it will not cause the truck to die. Sounds like the electric motor is getting hot and shutting down. After it cold for a little bit it starts working again.
You really need a fuel pressure gauge to see if you have fuel pressure when it dies.
