Spark Plugs, Fuel Injectors, or Something Else?
I have noticed that my truck seems to lose a little umph every now and then since the day I bought it. I always thought it was because the MDS was engaged and I had to give it enough gas to go back to operating on all 8 cylinders. I disabled the MDS with my flashpaq last week but I still notice it doing the same thing. I will try to describe it the best I can. It always happens after I let my foot off the gas pedal and coast. Say for instance I let off the throttle going down a hill, when I put my foot back on the pedal and only apply very light pressure to give it a little gas the truck basically does nothing. It makes a noise that I can't really describe, kind of like the gas is going into the engine but not combusting? If I give it more gas then it "wakes up" and drives like normal.
This happens pretty much every time I apply light throttle after coasting. The only things I can think of are maybe some of the spark plugs have gone bad or the injectors might be a little clogged. I only have 57k on the engine. And on the radiator support frame there is a piece of tape that has "Fuel injectors serviced 39k" written on it. This service was done by the previous owner so I have no idea what the service was. Any thoughts? I'm stumped.

Throttle body clean? A Sea-Foam treatment might help. These trannys seem to have a bit of part-throttle sag.
I do find it amazing that people blame MDS for so much. I'm surprised it isn't blamed for global warming, world tension and Obama-care.

Try recalibrating the TB by the procedure in the FAQ section as well after cleaning it.
Is the procedure in the FAQ you are referring to titled "Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Recalibration Procedure"? That was the closest title I could find, unless I missed it.
Thanks
So does anyone else think that it could be the plugs or the fuel injectors? I'm going to clean the throttle body as suggested and possibly do a sea foam treatment and see if that helps the problem.
The thread in the FAQs on how to calibrate the TB is for CTDs, not gassers. To calibrate the TB on a gasser you simply flip the key to ON (not Start) and let wait a few seconds. If there is no noise around you, you can here it open and close the TB plate.

That's all there is to it? Well that sounds easy enough. I'll try to do some searching around on how to clean the throttle body.
I thought you turn it on, wait for the lightning bolt light to go out, then slowly push the pedal to the floor and slowly let it back up. That's how I always do it.
How many miles you have on it? I would doubt it is the injectors.
You must be just across the river from me. I have family up at the top of the *****.
