My truck is actually stock hieght for now, eventually it will be dropped 2/4. Tires I am running now are 305/50/20, the widest tire I can fit on a stock rim without any rubbing issues up front.

Do any of you guys have a limited slip or locker in the rear ? Are you spinning both rear tires or just ONE ? Adding a Detriot Locker will give you double the traction. I only have an open axle...no Detroit Locker.....yet.

A 275/55/20 would be as wide as you have now and a little taller in terms of height and unless they are a lot stickier of a tire, you'll just burn through them. See if you can fit a 305/50/20 or 305/45/20 in there. First number is the width, second is the height and the last is the rim diameter. You want wider not taller.

A locker is not very street friendly specially around turns. I have an LSD with the gears and it spins both tires with ease. Now although they both give more traction, at this point that doesnt play to much of a factor as far as spinning on launches go. What he needs is something that will let him grip the road better to gain more traction. So a wider tire and something to help with axle wrap is needed.

CalTracs and some General Grabber UHP 305/50/20's should fix your traction issues.
